Strong Women Don’t Tear Each Other Down—They Rise Above

lifetsyle mindset March 04, 2025

March is International Women’s Month, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women around the world.

It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the work still ahead in creating a world where every woman feels empowered to step into her full potential.

But beyond the celebrations, this month is also about personal empowerment—recognizing your own strength, embracing your journey, and standing confidently in who you are.

Whether it’s in your career, your fitness journey, your relationships, or your mindset, you have the power to take control, push forward, and create the life you want.

And trust me, I’ve had to tap into that power time and time again—whether it was taking a leap of faith and moving across the world, pushing my body and mind to summit Mount Everest, or stepping into the unknown of motherhood.

Each challenge has taught me something new about resilience, and if there’s one thing I know, women are unstoppable when we lift each other up.

If you’re ready to celebrate not just women everywhere, but also yourself, let’s dive in.

Why International Women’s Month Matters

Women’s history is filled with stories of courage, resilience, and breaking barriers. We’ve seen progress in education, sports, leadership, and personal freedoms—yet challenges still exist. International Women’s Month is a chance to:

  • Recognize the strength and contributions of women throughout history and today.
  • Acknowledge the work still needed for equality and opportunities for all women.
  • Celebrate your own journey, growth, and achievements. Every woman’s story matters—including YOURS.

This month, take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come and the goals you’re still working toward.

I think back to when I first started building my fitness brand. People doubted me, told me I should stick to a “traditional” path, and made me question whether I was capable.

But I believed in my vision. And now, after creating BURN by Rebecca Louise, Luna Bloom, Climbing Everest, and even writing a book, I know that our dreams are only as limited as our belief in ourselves. So believe big.

Owning Your Power and Confidence

Confidence isn’t something we’re born with—it’s something we build through action, mindset shifts, and showing up for ourselves. Too often, women are taught to downplay their strengths, to stay small, or to second-guess their abilities. But not anymore.

  • Recognize your worth. You are not defined by others’ opinions or past failures—your strength comes from within.
  • Stop apologizing for taking up space.
  • Speak up, go after your goals, and own your ambitions unapologetically. And challenge limiting beliefs. If a thought tells you “you’re not good enough,” ask yourself: Is this really true? Or is it just fear talking?

One of the best pieces of advice my mentor ever gave me was: “Never take advice from someone you wouldn’t trade places with.”

Think about that for a second. We let opinions and judgment get in our heads, but are those voices coming from people we admire? Are they living the life we want? Probably not.

And here’s another truth: somebody more successful than you won’t judge you. The people tearing others down are usually the ones struggling the most inside. If you’re happy, you don’t have time to spread negativity.

You couldn’t pay me money to go and comment something negative on someone’s social media—it just wouldn’t happen. It’s not even in my energy field.

I don’t understand how people have time for it, but as Jim Rohn says, Don’t take that class to figure out why.” The reality is, negativity usually comes from people who have limited information about the topic they’re commenting on.

If someone has something critical to say about your life, your choices, or your journey, remind yourself that they probably wouldn’t even say it to your face.

When I climbed Everest, so many people told me I was crazy or that I wouldn’t make it. But I didn’t climb that mountain for them—I climbed it for me. And whatever you’re working toward in your life, remember this: You don’t owe anyone an explanation for chasing your dreams.

Supporting and Uplifting Other Women

One of the most powerful things we can do as women is to support each other.

Society often pushes competition, comparison, or the idea that there’s only room for a few at the top—but when women empower each other, we all rise.

Instead of looking at another woman’s success as a threat, see it as proof of what’s possible. Celebrate wins, be a mentor or role model, and create spaces where women feel supported and heard.

And let’s talk about something really close to my heart lately—motherhood.

Everybody has an opinion when it comes to birth, pre and post-pregnancy, and how you “should” do things. The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.

Every woman’s journey is different, and we should be respecting and honoring each other’s choices instead of tearing each other down.

I’ve learned firsthand how easy it is for people to judge—whether it’s about fitness, business, or now, being a mom. But at the end of the day, you have to do what’s right for YOU.

Instead of focusing on judgment, let’s focus on support, encouragement, and building each other up.

If you’ve ever found yourself tolerating negativity, self-doubt, or anything that dims your light, it’s time to raise the bar. What you accept in your life defines the trajectory of your future.

Want to go even deeper on this?

I released a podcast episode that dives into exactly this—how the limits we tolerate shape our lives, and how to set bold standards that lead to confidence, fulfillment, and grit.

Prioritizing Self-Care and Growth This Month

Empowerment starts from within. Taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally is not selfish—it’s essential.

Move your body daily—not just for physical strength, but for confidence, stress relief, and energy. Fuel yourself with nutrition that makes you feel strong—because eating well is an act of self-love.

Set boundaries and say no when needed—your time and energy are valuable. And invest in personal growth—whether it’s reading, learning something new, or simply challenging yourself to step outside your comfort zone.

After climbing Mount Everest, I realized just how powerful self-care is—not just physically, but mentally. Your body can be in peak condition, but if your mindset isn’t strong, you won’t make it through the hardest moments.

And life is the same way. You have to take care of your body AND your mind if you want to keep pushing forward.

And if you’re still struggling with the idea of putting yourself first, I break this down even further in my podcast episode:

It’s time to fill your own cup so you can pour into everything and everyone else in your life.

Celebrating You This Month and Beyond

March isn’t just about celebrating famous women or historical achievements—it’s about recognizing your own strength, your own growth, and the impact you can make.

Own your power. You are strong, capable, and deserving of success. Lift up other women. Support, encourage, and celebrate the women around you. And prioritize yourself. Take care of your body, mind, and goals unapologetically.

You are part of this movement. The way you live, the way you inspire others, and the way you chase your dreams makes a difference.
